Note: that this is my opinion and only mine based on what I observe. There is no scientific proof of what I write here below. It’s just a vision.
In the title I’m talking about the pharmaceutical industry. I’ve never really trusted the traditional way of curing illnesses. I mean I’ve always tried to avoid taking medicine to feel better. And with medicine I mean the chemical rubbish from which the doctors claim that it is often necessary to take in, in order to heal. In my humble opinion nothing is further from the truth.
Your body needs what it needs and what is meant to be eaten naturally
Now be honest with me. Is eating pills and drinking chemical fluids what we need to keep being healthy? If you ask me, I would rather say that eating all the necessary vitamins and minerals and whatever the body needs, has to be added to our system by eating naturally. Vitamins, minerals, water, fat and all the basic stuff our body needs in order to function properly is available in our food and in nature.
Only, most people don’t really know how to eat healthy and have no idea what they need to do to remain healthy.
It happens that people start to feel ill if they don’t have a sufficient amount of certain vitamins or minerals or they have bad habits, such as smoking or drinking alcohol; or even taking drugs. Well, the latter is obvious. If you know that you smoke or if you know that you drink too much alcohol, it is no secret anymore that one day or another you will reap the fruits from what you sowed.
Going to the doctor in that case might probably turn out in trying to stop smoking or stop drinking or in case of vitamin deficiency eat the right vitamins; of course naturally. With naturally I mean:
- really stop smoking by training your self to do so.
- really stop drinking alcohol by gradually decreasing the amount of alcohol
- really eating more healthy foods by eating more vitamin-containing foods
But, what if a doctor starts ‘helping’ you by giving you medicine to try losing those bad habits. Patches with nicotine or other chemicals, alcohol replacing chemicals, multivitamin pills. The latter, I suppose would not harm your health, but it would lead you to only keep buying those pills, instead of going to the grocery and buy more vegetables and fruits.
Because this is what makes the pharmaceutical industry rich. People who have a virtual ‘subscription’ to medicine. Who need it desperately on a regular basis. I see it very often, people buying pills and expensive medicine on a regular basis. And pharmacists eager to ‘help’ those good paying people.
Is there any healthy food left?
I’m not sure about that, but what I do know is that it is better to give your body as much of those needed vitamins and minerals as possible, it won’t harm your body, even if the foods are not as pure as they used to be in earlier days.
Healthy foods have their purpose, but we need to know how to use them. So, there is a need for education. To show people how they really have to eat in order to keep being healthy. But, we also need to see this from perspective of the not so healthy people with bad habits. We need to help them learn to eat healthy. Only, it doesn’t really happen.
What I see most is that a doctor hands them over a prescription for some medicine, but not really what they need to become healthy people for the rest of their lives.
In our modern societies we are victims of commercials
It is known that folks who live in countries where there are less modern amenities, such as electricity, electromagnetic radiation of whatever form , industrial polution or polution by vehicles, are much healthier than we from the wellfare societies.
Only in case of poverty, there may be cases of illness due to vitamin deficiency.
There are much less cancers in those countries either. I guess the only reason why there are many deaths is because they have vitamin deficiency and often those people live in countries where there is a lot of corruption. So, even if we try to help them, the resources we try to offer them get intercepted and they only receive a small part of what they should have received.
Anyway, we are not very well educated by the media. We are spoiled when it comes to having access to information and entertainment. One form of media access is our daily television. It is a combination of both, because we have the choice to watch informative programs and to watch entertaining programs. Watching television can confuse us about how we should be behaving. One of those behaviours is how we eat. It is really confusing, especially if we include the commercials. Some will tell us how to eat healthy and others will do that too but in a totally different way.
And we always wonder if they are being honest with us. Or, maybe we rely on what they tell us and shape our habits according to what is ideal in their opinions. What really counts in my humble opinion is the result of what we accomplish with doing what they tell us. If the result is not good, we have to look for another ‘truth’. But blindly following the advice of the media is not a very good idea. We should have an opinion of our own and research everything they tell us by looking at ourselves and rely a bit on common sense.
I’ll rest my case here, but I really needed to share this with you people.
